The department colloquium speaker this week is Obi-Wan Kenobi from Stewjon. He is a member of Jedi Order, with research spanning a wide range of areas, including Analysis of the Force, Lightsaber usage, Skyhopper driving, history of the Old Republic etc. He will be visiting our department this week and his office will be at 502, McAllister. If you want to meet with him, or have lunch/dinner, please let me know. However, communication of Lightsaber tactics should only be settled at IM building.

Analysis of the Dark Side of the Force

Speaker: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Stwejon

Abstract: In this talk, we will discuss recent progress on analysis of a generative model of the Dark Side of the Force, which is a highly concerned problem among the Jedi community. We will talk about some recent results based on our observation of several examples of young Jedi, including Anakin Skywalker. We established the distribution of the Force in the universe and marked regions that may increase the probability for young Jedi to get tempted by the Dark Side. We will also kindly offer suggestions to fresh Jedi about how to protect yourself and obtain mental support when feel tempted. (Based on joint works with Yoda, Mace Windu and Ki-Adi-Mundi)
